Overview of Humanities Co-op

The Cooperative Program in Humanities gives students the opportunity to combine the study of their chosen subject in Humanities with work experience. The program emphasizes mastery of the analytical, computing and writing skills that underlie success in today’s competitive work environment. Special seminars on writing curricula vitae, preparing job applications and practicing for job interviews enhance the students’ experience.

Students in the Cooperative Program in Humanities take a specialist program in a Humanities subject or two Major programs, one of which must be in the Humanities. In addition, during the course of their academic studies, students do complete two work placements of four months each in a wide variety of organizations and companies. This work/study approach to learning in the humanities is unique to the University of Toronto Scarborough within the University of Toronto.
