The Canadian Review of Physical Anthropology / Revue Canadienne d’Anthropologie Physique was published by the Canadian Association for Physical Anthropology between 1979 and 1988. The issues of this journal are reproduced as PDF files here – but the sequence of volume numbers and journal titles does require some explanation.

Volumes 1, 2 and 3 were published in 1979, 1980 and 1981 respectively. There was a hiatus in publication for a few years until 1985 and 1986 when the Review was published with the Canadian Journal of Anthropology. Volume 4 #1-2 of the Review was published with Volume 4 #2 of CJA and Volume 5 #2 was published with Volume 5 #2 of CJA. The editorial in Volume 6 #1 of the Review noted that the labeling of Volume 5 as #2 was an error, and it should have read #1-2. CAPA published the Review on its own again in 1987 and 1988 for Volume 6 #1 and #2 respectively. Volume 6 #2 was the last issue of the Review.

Volume 3 #2 of the Canadian Journal of Anthropology (1983) – the “Proceedings of A Symposium on Human Evolution” - can also be found here as a PDF file. This issue of CJA was not an official collaboration between CJA and CAPA, but Dr. Sperber, the issue editor, is an active CAPA member and the content is certainly relevant to CAPA members. It is reproduced here with the permission of Dr. Sperber and the Department of Anthropology at the University of Alberta.
