Our Established Program

The University of Toronto's co-operative education programs are offered exclusively at Scarborough. We have provided employers with talented, hardworking students since 1975. Our program is continually enhanced to stay on the cutting edge. This provides a proven formula for success through an advanced curriculum including:

Management Principles, Management Consulting, International Business Management, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Operations Management, Public Management, Statistics, Economics, Investments, Computer Management, Management Information Systems, E-Commerce, Marketing Principles, Market Research, Communications, Human Resource Management, and Organizational Behaviour.

Access High Quality Talent

At the University of Toronto, our reputation for excellence is well known by both students and employers. Prior to entering our competitive programs, students must meet high academic standards and demonstrate eagerness and commitment to succeed in their chosen field. To be eligible to work for your organization, students must also maintain these standards of excellence by achieving an overall average which places them among the top students at the university. Students must also complete a set of required courses that qualifies them to work effectively in their role at your organization.

Build Your Profile with Future Employees

U of T Co-op Management invites you to build your brand profile on campus by being a part of our "Connect with Students Series". Our students are interested in getting to know your business and your industry. They want to identify career options that leverage their strengths. We will make all the necessary arrangements for the following events, including promoting your organization to our students.

  • Network with students at breakfast seminars
  • Host company information sessions
  • Conduct mock interviews
  • Participate as a guest panelist for industry information sessions

Hiring co-op students is a cost-effective way to assess well-prepared candidates for future employment. The recruitment process is simple and is available at no charge. Our office coordinates all job posting activities and schedules candidate interviews. We also work closely with you to promote your campus initiatives (e.g. distribute targeted e-mails to students, place announcements on our website and post on-campus advertisements).

Create a Service Program That's Uniquely Yours

At U of T Co-op Management, we utilize a customized service approach and welcome your requests for services that better enable you to build relationships with our students. We understand that your goal is to reach and secure high quality talent. By listening to your company's distinctive recruitment needs,we can work together to develop a plan that best suits you. We have the capability to accommodate most employers' requests and pride ourselves on our flexibility and range of options.

  • hire students from all years of the program
  • hire students year round for 4 or 8 months, starting in January May or September
  • invite students to return to your organization at a date of your choice

Students starting a work term will be in their second, third or fourth year in the program and are available to work full-time, approximately 37.5 hours per week for 4 or 8 months. They must complete 3 work terms as part of their program of study.

Individual students' schedules typically alternate with periods of work and study, (e.g. 4 months of work, 4 months of study,4 months of work, etc), but this schedule can usually be adjusted to accomodate return offers.
